Mission
Our mission comprises of three main pillars grounded in critical approches and concrete projects aimed at exploring their contents:
Encourage debate, reflection and legal research related to different critical approaches.
Foster greater accessibility of research projects in law, rendering them less elitist and allowing all actors, whether within or outside the legal field, to contribute to debates in legal research.
Create opportunities for collaboration, dialogue and creativity between researchers from all fields, as well as with other members of the community.
participants
While we are based at the Faculty of Law of the Université de Sherbrooke, our activities, associated researchers, partners and collaborators are not restricted to the university.
Our members are researchers interested in critical approaches to law, in accessibility to academic research projects, and in the value of collaboration between researchers. The term “researcher” includes professors, post-doctoral fellows, doctoral students and students at the master's level completing a thesis. If you are interested in the LRCD’s activities and your research is in line with the group’s mission you are welcome. If you wish to participate, do not hesitate to contact us!
ACTIVITIES
We carrry out the mission of the Laboratory through different activities.
Our regular workshop series allow discussions and debates in an informal context around an important topic or ongoing research.
Our seminars aim to disseminate research mobilizing critical approaches to law.
Our conferences and workshops are larger knowledge mobilization activities on a specific topic of interest for critical legal research.
Being a laboratory, we are always open to organize innovative activities.
